A Message from Head of Department

Rapidly changing technological processes have different kinds of effects on engineering applications which facilitates our life significantly. One of the fields affected by these changes is health. The development made by means of computers, electronics and genetics studies in the last 20 or 30 years is much more than the development seen until now. Thus, the knowledge produced within this period has led to the development of diagnosis and treatment. In this context, especially the development of new measuring methods not only helps scientists diagnose the diseases which were not diagnosed before but also leads to the early diagnosis for the current diseases. Moreover, the devices developed by the biomedical engineers help the doctors diagnose various diseases.

Biomedical Engineering is a multidisciplinary programme that aims to educate individuals specialized in the development of devices, methods and software by applying analytical methods of traditional engineering to biology and medicine. This department is in interaction with different professionals such as physicians, nurses, therapists, biologists, laboratories, technicians, psychologists.

Biomedical engineering is a multidisciplinary field that applies engineering principles to medical and biology to produce devices and diagnosis and treatment oriented solutions within the healthcare sector.

The curriculum of the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Beykent University was prepared in accordance with BOLOGNA criteria in parallel with the distinguished universities of Turkey and the world.

Successful students of our Department may do Minor or Double Major.

The medium of instruction is Turkish. English preparatory school is optional.
